I received a notice from Google, they will stop providing unlimited drive starting from December 2023
So we've been through 3 years with Google (from 2021), I've uploaded 2.23 PT = 2.283 TB

But this is not the end, with me and your contributions, this website will always operate.

For now, I will still upload to Google until the end of November
From now until the end of November, I want Vip members to give their opinions and agree on alternative hosting for Google. (1fichier will still remain the same)

Donation prices will start to change from today:
Donate 15 USD = 01 month
Donate 30 USD = 03 months (=$10/month)
Donate 60 USD = 06 months (=$10/month)
Donate 120 USD = 12 months (=$10/month)
Donate 240 USD = 24 months (=$10/month)

=> Donating for 3 months or more will have the most preferential price

Thank you all for accompanying Onkyo4k, please leave your comments here. I will summarize the opinions and will vote on hosting to replace Google in 22/11

One of the multidebrid sites uses filestank.com as a storage place for downloaded torrents. Maybe it's worth checking out this website as a replacement for Google Drive or a supplement to 1fichier?

Hello Dear Xuanxit,

Does that mean that all archived 2.283 TB movies from the GD will be erased or is some of this GD archive will stay online ?

I am with you as I always was and continue to be !!!

This is impossible for me :(

Thank you for your dedication Onkyo! I am sorry to hear that Google's removal of unlimited cloud data has reached you. Many others with Google Workspace Enterprise have also been cutoff from unlimited data (with no future uploads allowed and gradual removal of some data).

There has been a grace period where you can access your data (read only -- download ok, but no uploads), but that is changing for some long term users. Now Google has sent notice their data limit is changing to 5TB per user (min 3 users), and any data beyond that limit will be removed within 30 days. Not to scare you, but it is something to take note of...the time until they send the notice is unknown.

Research indicates several other big cloud providers have removed their unlimited options as well. Here is a thread discussing options (started March 4, 2023 and is current to today). I hope we can find a good solution!

Yes, or it will coast about 10500$ to keep the 2.283 TB / month !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uploaded was good as it keeps often a lot of files for about more than 6 month ...

1fichier is good but there are really a few files still online after 1 month or less ...

I have no idea for now about other storage solution from my side ...

I am sure we will find a solution...while not finding any (reliable) big name cloud alternatives, other options may be considered...open to suggestions and comments!

*Please note this is a basic list, and hope we are not limited to only these options*

1. reach out to 1fichier to ask about special account with links that do not expire
--or perhaps can refresh the links at certain intervals
--their help/FAQ section has some interesting info and might be a starting point for negotiations

2. telegram 'premium' offers unlimited storage, with max file size of 4GB
--while this could work, it requires learning a new system
--can create private communities, as well as restrict file downloads
--no backup option...if file is deleted, it's gone

3. self-hosting with truenas (or similar) servers
--large initial investment (servers, battery backups/UPS, faster internet?)
--ongoing investment/maintenance (electricity, internet, adding and replacing HDDs)
--options for large servers with 60 or 84 HDD bays
--eBay has used enterprise servers with HDD already installed and working ~US$10/TB (60x10TB=600TB, and other options)
--example: https://www.ebay.com/b/Enterprise-NAS-Disk-Arrays/64069/bn_886990
--large recertified enterprise HDDs (12TB to 25TB) at discount through several sites -- very popular and reliable site is https://ServerPartsDeals.com (2 yr warranty)

4. private access torrents
--similar to access to google drive, but using torrents/magnet links and trackers
--in the past, several communities did this...but sorry not sure how it works

I/we support you!

1fichier has the cheapest price, but the file lasts just over 1 month
The way to keep the 1fichier file alive longer is to remote the file to your 1fichier account: https://onkyo4k.com/threads/keep-files-online-on-1fichier.298846/

I'm thinking about Rapidgator (because it's popular and files are stored longer - at least 3 months)

A few years ago, it was possible to download almost without limit on rapidgator, I mean it was not offered and working like that officialy but with downloading with multiple thread (or several part at a time) the counting for your bandwith was not working and you could download probably like 20 times more than what your account was loaded with meaning you could buy the 6 months Premium for 6Tb download and finally doawnload like more than 100Tb or even more ...

Uploaded was about the same, not able to limit really to official Bandwith of 30Gb/day ... but more about 600Gb/day with multiple threading !

But a few years ago, Rapidgator update something that didn't allow users to download almost freely, I tried several configuration but this time the amount of download was really about 6Tb for 6 months !
At this time, it started to become really more expensive to download with Rapidgator ...

Does any one know if it is possible to still now download unlimitedly on Rapidgator as it was the case a few years ago ?

Well i guess it was a matter of time, I always thought that Google would change this service and it is a tragedy!
You put a lot of work out there to keep this site and community alive and we will support you!

I agree that this option, or private Usenet NZBs have been, and are the way of the future to not have to rely on file sharing services.

This forum by far is easily the best there has ever been and will always have my support.

torrent is not feasible, as it requires a large community to share files

Some time ago, the family sent a request for help in downloading game releases. I am not a gamer at all and doing this as a favor . I did some research to get best releases uploader. He upload from a long time at 2 filehosts:

- Rapidgator

- Ddownload

and this is his experience about those filehosts:

DDownload.com premium gives you 100GB of traffic every day, only one simple rule. Traffic is being renewed at midnight European time. Rapidgator.net biggest premium plan has 12TB of traffic per year (around 33GB/day, but there's no daily limit and even few hundreds gigabytes can be downloaded within a day). DDownload is cheaper and with best deal (1 year premium account) will cost you 4 EUR monthly. Both servers offer speeds around 1-2Gb/s (100-200MB/s).

I hope I help a little bit :)

I don't know much about file hosts, but from what I'd seen TakeFile is a good option as it usually keeps the files alive much longer than most of the other hosts that I know of, allowing you to have your own archive. The "only" problems is that its download speed is really atrocious and the traffic is quite limited, even for premium users...

And, as other had said before, Rapidgator and Usenet are another good options (and DDownload is also an interesting one, but, as Lena'd said, the traffic is very limited, just like TakeFile).

Personally, I will keep supporting the site, as I think it's one of the best on the net of its kind. But I must admit that the lost of the archive hurts really bad as there are lots of hard to find, OOP films..., but perhaps, with time, it can be recovered and uploaded again? There's that hope!

Ok so someone just posted in the thread above...he seems to have a way to reset or postpone Google's account suspension timer. This could provide additional time to migrate data.

It is very sad news, I will keep supporting the site anyway. For me the most important content are untouched shares. Let's see if we can find an alternative affordable server.

Very sad news indeed, but it was only the matter of time, as I had read about google changing their storage policy back in the summer. If you ask me the alternative has to be unlimited , there is no other way to keep the website relatively the same , rapidgator is ok, so is 1fichier, but you never know how long the files are going to be live, as an example on <hdencode> some files are still downloadable after a year or so, and some get deleted in the matter of days ,but then again I don't know if they have someone dedicated to constantly re uploading dead links.
Also there is an issue of limits , 6TB or even 12TB seem like a lot at first but ,with full 4K blu rays, I remember downloading way over 500GB of movies a day on many occasions, so that 12 TB doesn't seem like alot from that perspective.
It's a tough one.

Rapidgator and 1fichier can keep their files for 59/60 days without someone downloading them... the files would be kept alive if at least once every 60 days such files are downloaded.
